A Sense of Wonder

Coffee stirrer popsicle stick thingy that reads

As you gaze at the dozens of NY strangers passing you by, remember their inner multitudes. Remember Yours

This was taken at Little Cupcake Bakeshop on Prince Street in New York City. The drink was an iced chai latte and I also ate a chocolate chip cookie. Both pretty good. I think I was there to charge my phone haha. The popsicle stick is in the same exact spot I found it in, just with words now. It was fascinating to see all the different people walking up and down the street. My words were inspired by favorite author Neil Gaiman’s quote from A Game of You which is an issue in Sandman:

“Everybody has a secret world inside of them. I mean everybody. All of the people in the whole world, I mean everybody — no matter how dull and boring they are on the outside. Inside them they’ve all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds… Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands, maybe.”

PLUS, it was also inspired by Ed Yong’s title for his book “I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us and a Grander View of Life“. I first saw it at WORD Jersey City. Also it looks like the title itself was inspired by Walt Whitman. Some literature minor I am for not catching that haha.
