Before Punk Island 2023

Oh dear lawd, I haven’t updated this site in so long that I still have an unpublished post right before the 2022 Punk Island lol ugh. But that’s okay, I’ve been struggling with imposter syndrome a lot this past year, but I’m going to make more of an effort to be diligent with my passions and desires. Which means I’ll be updating this site more frequently. I wanna blog on here and post works in progress. Really establish this site as a treasure trove of beloved works and thoughts.

I’m vending for the third year in a row at Punk Island for The Asian American Literary Review, as their Events Coordinator. I’m grateful they invited me back and I always have such a great time.

It’ll be held at the American Veteran’s Memorial Pier in Bay Ridge in Brooklyn from 12-6pm. It’ll be windy so dress warm. I plan on wearing tights, dress, and a sweater. At least I won’t melt like last year hehe.

Besides AALR works, I’ll be selling for the first time my own zines and an anthology I’m in. /E\ suggested for me to make goody bags and I love the idea so much. I bought dollar store organza pouches and placed pop rocks, my business card, and a mini perzine I made last year. I also made a zine out of my Narrative Constellations final projects too and used Canva and Mixam to print it. Highly recommend both. Mixam has a fantastic and easy to use site and the prices are great. I also got my package a day early, thank you UPS haha.

I plan on hauling a ton of books and zines to give away with purchase. Weird, intriguing, mind-opening works. Children’s lit, young adult, experimental, favorites, the whole lot. It’s gonna be excessive to bring from Jersey but well worth it. Thank glob I can just use the R to get there. I’m also gifting bubbles and stickers and make sure I bring bags in case folks don’t have one.

Punk Island has always been a huge highlight every summer. It’s gonna be a wonderful time as always and I’m excited to meet new people and put my work and self out there.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoy your summer!
